Jazz tasting party
Kyoto was the birthplace of Japanese folk, the birthplace of Japanese blues, and a thriving jazz city.
Kyoto was, in a sense, the epicenter of Japanese music.
With the development of the Internet, SNS, and Youtube, information has become homogenized, and I think that the status of information dissemination from Kyoto is no longer that different from other regional cities across the country.
I also feel that cultural polarization has begun nationwide.
When it comes to amateurs being able to disseminate information, I think there is a tendency to evaluate the number of hits more than the quality. As a result, some very precocious young geniuses are emerging, but I feel that the level of amateurs is declining.
While technological progress is progressing rapidly, I feel that the middle class with musical creativity is shrinking. Also, in a world overloaded with information, where profits and losses are quantified, I feel that it is becoming difficult to dream of living through art.
People today are busier than ever before.
Therefore, I have come to think that my job for society is to help people enjoy creating high-quality music in their daily lives.
Children use words skillfully and understand what adults say by the time they reach the age of one.
I have come to feel that humans are born with an instinct to sense changes in frequency and to attach high-level meaning to them.
I believe that music is the most important ability unique to humans to complement words and share emotions of joy, anger, sadness, and beauty that cannot be expressed in words, and that we should not ignore this. became.
That was the starting point for the "Tasting Party."
I hope you understand.

②Project title
"Jazz tasting party"
Note: Currently, the Jazz Tasting Group is taking the form of supporting all types of music composition and improvisation, not just jazz, so how should we change the word ``jazz''?
I'm trying to find the right words.
③Target
It is aimed at everyone, professional or amateur, who aspires to the opportunity to expand their creativity.
Below are the main targets.
1) Supporting the creative activities of classical musicians
With the exception of the composition department, there was no idea of creative activities for performers in advanced classical music education.
We will continue to create experimental programs for classical musicians, with the goal of developing improvisational and creative abilities that can be applied to any genre.
2) Support for creative activities of high school students
I believe that your high school experiences are an important time in determining your lifelong hobbies and preferences.
We support high school light music clubs and brass bands in their creative activities, not only with improvisation, but also with advice on high-quality basic practice methods.
3) Support for improving the level of local amateur music lovers who continue to play music throughout their lives
I think music enriches life and improves correct judgment and intuition.
The level of music in a local community is the level of its culture, and we believe that it is desirable for more people to enjoy music throughout their lives.
Many talented people grow from this kind of soil. I would like to make that dream come true.
4) Music support for various people visiting Kyoto
Many people come to Kyoto from all over Japan and the world to experience Kyoto's culture. For these people, we would like to give them the opportunity to get a taste of the direction of their creativity in a short period of time.
"Taste Meeting" aims to be at the cutting edge of education in the world, different from traditional classrooms and music schools.
We aim to realize the idea that ``If you want to know the newest way to do something, come to Kyoto.''
